Parent Influences on the Dietary Habits of Young Adults

To better understand the processes through which eating habits during childhood are carried over into adulthood, I asked question: under what circumstances and patterns do feeding behaviors of parents become replicated emerge as habitual in their children young adulthood? aim to investigate how parenting style parent surrounding food diet influence children’s dietary long-term. Previous research indicates that income is a major factor determining parents’ behavior, so set out combine level one study. hypothesized adults who recalled engaging associated with authoritative would be most likely replicate those habit from adulthood. process these variables ultimately cultivated interviewed, selected three habits—presence breakfast, moderation added sugar intake, sufficient vegetable consumption—that have been positive health outcomes. II observed several distinct patterns: (i) continue eat breakfast had previously experienced high engagement meal childhood; (ii) whose engaged intake were more carry similar attitudes related adulthood; (iii) many external factors also initiated significant transition towards healthier independent influence.
